POLICY FOR FINANCIAL AID TO THE STUDENTS

ABOUT THE POLICY

            This policy deals with fee concession and scholarship for students in order to provide financial support for the education of students.

 

2. VISION

            To provide financial support for the education of students for developing intellectual capital to meet societal needs and global challenges.

 

3. MISSION

            To make ensure that no student should be deprived of opportunity to study due to financial barriers.

 

4. OBJECTIVE

            To provide financial assistance to students in need from low income families on the basis in academics, sports and cultural activities while pursuing higher education studies.

 

5. STRATEGIES AND ACTION PLANS

  1. Scholarships are given to the students on the basis in academics, sports and cultural activities and also to financially week/minority class /SC/ST/BC/OBC students.
  2. College awards fee concession and financial help to the admitted students under various Scholarships/Stipends funded by Central/State/University/College/NGO.
  3. College does not discriminate the grantees on the basis of race, religion, caste, creed, ethnic, or demographic status for awarding scholarship.
  4. College provides scholarships to students who enrolled for various college programs through funds provided by donors and other college funds.
  5. Half fee concession and also financial assistance out of student aid fund are granted to the poor and deserving students as per rules besides brother/sister concession is also available.
  6. All scholarship funds are awarded through the accounts office of the college.                                                                                                                              
  7. Scholarship recipient students must meet ‘Satisfactory Academic Progress’ requirements.
  8. Fee concessions/Stipends and scholarships of all categories are withdrawn if the student deteriorates in studies, remains irregular or is found guilty of misconduct.
  9. Students must meet any other requirements as set forth by the donor.
  10. The application for scholarship must be complete in all respect and be submitted on or before the last date issued by the college.
  11. The eligible students for scholarships are shortlisted by a scholarship committee of the college.
  12. The decision made by the college authorities is final and not subject to challenge by the applicants.
  13. The benefits to SC/ST regarding scholarship/stipends/concession are applicable as per memo no. 2/6-2007-scholarship-1(8) dated 28/2/2008 of D.P.I(C) Punjab.
  14. Those Scheduled students whose parents are Gazetted officers or who pay income tax are not eligible for freeship/scholarship/stipend etc.
  15. Scheduled caste/other backward class/ Minority students apply online for stipend/scholarship etc. after admission.
  16. A student can avail only one scholarship at a time.

6. MONITORING AUTHORITY

            An eight member committee comprising Principal, five members of different faculties, one Jr. Assistant and One clerk deals all the issues regarding fee concession.
