Policy for non Teaching Staff

1. ABOUT THE POLICY

            Human Resources are the backbone of every Organization, the Management and Authorities at A.S. College duly recognize the contribution of its employees and like other resources of the College, they give prior importance to its workforce working at all level.  The College initiates various welfare measures for the safety, security and growth of its non-teaching staff since its inception. In addition to the timely disbursal of the Salary, the College has made provision of Wheat Loan, regular promotions, salary enhancement, Uniforms for both (Summer and Winter) ESI, Provident Fund, Gratuity, Group Insurance and special appreciation awards for the good workers, retirement parties etc. All the efforts are being made to provide the facilities to the non-teaching staff and in return the management expects quality output from its human resources and maintains congenial atmosphere. For this purpose, the Code of Conduct policy is prepared.  Normally, the Code of Conduct policy and service rules of the State of Punjab is followed for promotions and other service conditions, but at college level this Code of Conduct policy is formulated by the College Management and its 100 percent implementation is also ensured by the College Principal.

 

2. VISION

            To impart quality education to the Students of vicinity and provide quality infrastructure, safe environment and other required basic amenities.

 

3. MISSION

            With a view to achieve the Vision of the College, the college adopted the `No Tolerance Policy' with regard to any unlawful or undesired activities performed by the non-teaching staff within the College Campus or the acts which harms the Glory of the College.

 

4. OBJECTIVES

            Keeping in view, the vision and Mission of the College Management expects the following Code of Ethics from its Non-Teaching Staff and defined the acts of mis-conduct and punishments for violation of these codes.

The Management expects following from the employees:

  1. Loyalty to the College by punctuality and reliability in all duties.
  2. Integrity by being honest in words and actions.
  3. Creating and maintaining strong relationships with their colleagues, students and faculty members.
  4. Proper interactions with students and update their knowledge about various schemes for the welfare of students declared by the Management/State Government/UGC.
  5. Maintaining professional restrictions with students and staff members.
  6. Maintain decorum by treating students with care and kindness.
  7. Being supportive and cooperate with other staff members.
  8. Responsibility by meeting the required standards for every assigned task.
  9. Earn Respect with trust and confidentiality at work place.
  10. Justice themselves with committed behaviour and loyalty towards college.
  11. He/she must respect and maintain the hierarchy in the College Administration.
  12. He/she should adhere strictly to the official opening/closing time and must dress decently and appropriately.
  13. Must not use unauthorized persons to perform their official duties.

 

 

5. GOVERNANCE AND ADMINISTRATION

            Any employee of the College must manifest inspirational conduct to be a role model for other stakeholders and misconduct of any kind, therefore, is never acceptable under any circumstances. Shortfalls will constitute misconduct not limited to the following situations and actions:

  1. Conscious failure to carry out the academic/technical/administrative/other activities and duties assigned.
  2. Victimization and discrimination of Students, Colleagues, and other staff.
  3. Provocations with any stakeholders that may disrupt the functionality of the College.
  4. Raising questions of Caste, Creed, Religion, Race, or Sex in his/her relationships with Students, Colleagues, and other staff, to further prospects for self-gain and selfish agendas.
  5. Refusal to accept/carry out the decisions/directions of superiors, competent authorities/bodies, and Officers of the University in the due exercise of their rights in the functional hierarchy.
  6.  

            Non-compliance and violation of the regular duties, Service Rules of State Government and the Code of             Ethics and conduct will invite punishment either in the form of censure or deferment         of Increment or Suspension or Termination from Service after a due inquiry by the discretion of the College Authorities. It is the responsibility of all the Staff members of the College to comply with this code of Ethics, Misconduct and Code of Conduct of Government of Punjab and maintain the reputation and honor of the College and the noble profession of education.

 

6. MONITORING AUTHORITY

            The monitoring authority of the non-teaching staff of A.S. College is DPI, Panjab University, University Grants Commission, College Principal and Governing Body/Management of the College. The College management evaluates the performance of the college policies regularly and adopts Zero Tolerance at all levels

therefore always free from repetition
