The Physics department was established in 1953. It has well-furnished laboratories with latest equipments. Department has a Book Bank with good number of books. Books are issued to the needy students. The vision of the department is to inculcate the quality of rational thinking among the students and turn them into socially aware citizens. Apart from the studies the students are encouraged to take part in extra and co-curricular activities
The objectives of the Department are:
- To train the students well to enable them to become useful assets of the society and develop technical knowledge among them.
- To upgrade their knowledge as per latest developments by actively participation in seminars, conferences, workshops, exhibitions etc.
- To develop interest in students to pursue higher education

Infrastructure in the Department
- Department having Three laboratories equipped with all UG level equipments for Physics experiments (G.M. Counter, He-Ne Laser, Spectrometer, set up for Ionization Potential of Mercury, Cathode Ray Oscilloscope, Travelling Microscope, etc.)
- Well-equipped computer lab for Programming
