The Department of Public Administration was established at A.S. College, Khanna in the year 2006 and it offers Public Administration as one of Elective subject in three year degree program in the Faculty of Arts. The Department of Public Administration strives to provide an in-depth knowledge in the field of Public Administration with an objective to create and prepare students for civil services, Corporate Sector, Indian Police Services etc. and make our students eligible for doing Masters in Public Administration, Police Administration, Policy and Governance Administration, Business Administration (MBA) and Political Science from various Central as well as State Level Universities.
The thrust area in the subject of Public Administration includes policy making, good governance, personnel, finance, inculcation of leadership qualities, decision-making and developing administrative and managerial skills among our students. With these managerial skills and attitude our students becomes professional and manage to serve the government as well as private sector organizations.
Courses on Non-Formal Mode
The Department of Public Administration offers following courses on non-formal mode for updating the Knowledge, Skill and Attitude among College Students. The students from all streams/programs can join the following courses at a nominal fees.
Ø Three months Certificate course in French Language
Ø One week lecture series on Personality Development.
Ø Career Counselling Workshops for final year students of all streams

The Department organized/participated in the following activities during the academic session 2021-22.
1.Delivered lecture on Indian Heritage to the students of B.Sc.2 on 28th April 2022 under Ek Bharat Shresth Bharat program of Govt. Of India.
2. Delivered lectures on French Language Course (non-formal mode) for the students of Travel & Tourism, 22 students participated in the said course.
3.Delivered lecture on Career Prospects after Graduation’ for the final year students on November 27, 2021 and updated their knowledge about the competitive exams and higher education prospects after graduation.
4.Department of Public Administration in association with Career Guidance & Placement Cell, updates our students about the job opportunities and availability of government jobs and displays the job vacancies available in different government departments on Notice Board.
5.Department of Public Administration conducted Quiz Competition on 28th October, 2021 and students from all the streams participated in this competition and three students namely Satinder Mishra Roll No. 818 of B.A.-3rd Semester, Tejas Vashisht, Roll No. 4207 of BCA first Semester and Amanjot Kaur of B.Com. 5th Semester were declared 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
6.Department of Public Administration delivered lecture series on Personality Development to the students of B.A. 5th Semesters and lecture on Communication Skills, Leadership and Morale were delivered from 23rd November, 2021 to 25th November, 2021.
7.Department of Public Administration is going to start French Language Classes on Non-formal mode w.e.f. February 2022 for the students of all streams.
8.During the Celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week from 29th October 2021 to 3rd November, 2021 delivered an lecture on Corruption and its impacts on civic society to the students of B.A. 5th Semester and further discussions were made on corruption students.
