Travel and Tourism (UGC Sponsored add-on Course) - 40 Seats
Tourism is an global level largest and fastest growing smokeless industry and it requires both skilled and unskilled manpower to run its operations all around the world. The students of Travel and Tourism course have a sturdy basis to face this requirement of tourism professionals and attaining high level oppositions in expert and leadership functions in domestic, local and international tourism, Leisure, transport, destination management, event management etc.
Keeping this aspect in mind and to provide job oriented professional education to our students along with their regular studies, the College has started this UGC sponsored add-on Course in the year 2013 duly approved by the Panjab University, Chandigarh in the Department of Public Administration. Students from all undergraduate streams i.e. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com and BCA are eligible to join this course at a very nominal fee. Travel and Tourism is a three year multiple exit program, after completion of every year Student will get Certificate from Panjab University. The Department offer Certificate Course in Travel and Tourism at undergraduate first year, Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Second year and Advance Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Final year. During this course students are imparted special training skills on personality development, photography, foreign language i.e. German and French, dressing sense etc. For meeting the theoretical needs of the students, our College library is fully strengthened and approx 150 titles of different books, magazines and journals on travel and tourism and available. After completion of this course students can use these skills in fetching jobs in service/hospitality sector i.e. Tourism industry, Hotel Industry, Hospitals, Civil Aviation, Airlines, Travel Agencies, Foreign Embassy, Transport Sector, tourist guide & escorts at tourist destinations and resorts within India and Abroad in addition to this students can starts their own tourism related small sector entrepreneurs.

Syllabus and Eligibility Criteria
Certificate Course
Students at the under graduate level from any stream can opt for
Certificate course in Travel and Tourism. Student can take Add-on Course only during his/her Graduation program.
Eligibility is pass marks (35% marks) at + 2 level.
DIPLOMA COURSE
The Students who qualify the Certificate Course with minimum 50% marks is eligible for admission in Diploma - Travel and Tourism.
FOR ADVANCED DIPLOMA COURSE
The Students who qualify the Diploma Course with minimum 50% marks is eligible for admission in Advance Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
MAKRS DISTRIBUTION
Ø There will two papers of 100 marks each at each level (i.e.)
certificate level, diploma level and advanced diploma level.
Ø Each paper shall have 2 credits and total marks shall be 100
marks out of 100 marks theory paper shall consist of 75 marks
and internal assessment based upon practical training, Class
participation, Attendance case studies project report shall be 25
marks.
